Free backlink checker: what a link from any website is worth

A backlink is worth what the site it comes from can pass on, less the kind of link you can actually get there. Enter any website for its BV score: what one new followed link from it is worth in ranking benefit, in dollars โ not what anyone charges for it โ worked out by the same model bklink uses to value every link it audits. The price is what the seller asks. BV is what the link is worth.
BV โ backlink value โ is what one new followed link from a site is worth to the site it points to, in dollars, before anything about your own site is known. It measures ranking benefit, not cost. Publications set their own prices; the BV score is the figure to set beside a quote, so you know what a backlink is worth before you pay for it. mxverify sells no links, and no site pays to be listed or valued. The score is the one bklink puts on every link in an audit, worked out by BV 2.8. Two things about the linking site decide it. Site Strength, from 0 to 100, is half the site's link authority rating and half its organic search traffic on a log scale. Strength sets the ceiling: a followed editorial link is worth up to $2,265 at strength 100 and about half as much for every 16 points below that โ about $179 at strength 41, where a mid-sized site sits. The scale is pinned to published guest-post asking prices at two points, but the score is what a link is worth to rankings, not what anyone charges. Link type decides how much of that survives, following the distinctions Google's link guidance draws between editorial, sponsored and user-generated links and link schemes.

mxverify is a free backlink checker that answers a question most link buyers only ask after they've paid: what is a link from this site actually worth? Enter any website and it returns a BV score โ backlink value โ the dollar figure for what one new followed link from that site is worth in ranking benefit. Not what a publication charges for it. The score comes from the same model bklink uses to value every link in an audit, worked out by BV 2.8.
The distinction matters. Sellers set prices; mxverify measures value. The two numbers are rarely the same, and the BV score is the one to set beside a quote before money changes hands. mxverify sells no links, and no site pays to be listed or valued. Reports are public, and there's no sign-up.
Every checked site gets a dollar value for one new followed link, plus a breakdown of what each link type it offers โ graded A to D โ would be worth. The score reflects ranking benefit, not cost.
Half a site's link authority rating and half its organic search traffic on a log scale. Strength sets the ceiling: a followed editorial link is worth up to $2,265 at strength 100, roughly halving for every 16 points below that.
Editorial links keep the full ceiling, guest and sponsored links half, neutralised links a tenth, network links a twentieth. A nofollow link counts as neutralised. The distinctions follow the lines Google's link guidance draws.
Link counts to the site, nofollow share, average spam score, IP and subnet spread, link placement, plus the site's outbound linking, traffic, server, network and age โ each with its source and date.
The price is what the seller asks. BV is what the link is worth.
That one line is the whole product. A strong domain can carry a high ceiling, but the kind of link you can realistically get there decides how much of it survives โ google.com tops out near $1,829 for an editorial mention, yet the links a business can actually obtain there score $183. mxverify makes that gap visible before you commit.
You're about to pay for a guest post or link placement and want a second opinion on the number. Or if you simply want to know what a link from a given site is worth in ranking terms, stated in dollars rather than adjectives.
