What is Nexus Shell?
Nexus Shell is a native macOS SSH client built with SwiftUI specifically for Apple silicon. It consolidates the daily toolkit of a server administrator into a single, focused workspace: multi-tab terminal sessions, dual-pane SFTP file management, SSH key management, Docker controls, live server monitoring, encrypted local session logs, and iCloud sync. Instead of juggling separate apps for terminal, file transfer, and container management, Nexus Shell brings them together under one native interface.
The app also includes an optional local Agent Bridge, which lets supported AI coding agents use your saved connections through visible terminal tabs — without ever exposing passwords or private keys. The bridge ships in the direct-download edition and remains disabled by default, so you stay in control of when and how AI tools interact with your servers.

Multi-tab SSH terminal with palettes
Each connection gets its own tab with a choice of color palettes, including Nord and Solarized. Keyboard shortcuts ⌘1–⌘9 jump straight to a specific tab, and with lrzsz installed on the server, you can use rz and sz to move files without leaving the terminal.
Dual-pane SFTP file management
Local and remote directories sit side by side. Drag files across to transfer, double-click to send a file to the other pane, and use the Compare feature to highlight differences. Every transfer lands in a task panel with progress and history.
Live server monitoring
The moment you sign in, you see CPU, memory, network, load, and top processes — no need to connect first and run top manually. Favorites show live up/down status at a glance, and clicking a host fills the dashboard instantly.
Terminal-integrated AI assistant
Press ⌘L to open an AI panel that diagnoses errors and explains output based on what's on screen. Press ⌘K to turn natural language into a ready-to-run command. You bring your own AI service API key, and the assistant works with OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepSeek.
